How to Delete a Multistreaming Output in StreamElements
Step-by-step instructions for removing an extra multistreaming target from StreamElements, checking the result, and fixing common setup issues.
Before you start
Multistreaming in StreamElements is managed from the Streaming destinations area of your dashboard, not from the local encoder by default. If you added an extra target such as a second platform account, removing it is a reversible settings change: you can add the destination again later if you still have the required login or stream key. You need access to the StreamElements account that owns the target and a current desktop or mobile browser. Some destination changes may require reconnecting the affected platform account after removal.
Step-by-step instructions
Open the StreamElements dashboard and sign in if prompted. Look for the streaming tools or live streaming section that shows your current destinations and active outputs.
- 1. In the dashboard, open the streaming destinations or multistreaming settings page.\n2. Find the output you want to delete in the list of connected platforms or custom destinations.\n3. Use the remove, delete, or disconnect option next to that output. The label can vary by layout, but it is normally close to the destination name or its edit button.\n4. Confirm the removal if the interface asks.\n5. Refresh the page and check that the target no longer appears in the active output list.
The same option controls both removing the target from future streams and disconnecting it from the current multistream setup. If you are looking at a live session, stop the stream before removing a destination to avoid changing an active broadcast unexpectedly.
Check the output
The deleted destination should disappear from the multistreaming list after the page updates. As a practical check, start a brief private test stream and confirm that it does not appear on the removed platform while continuing on the remaining destinations that you want to keep. Keep the test short if you use an encoder or camera feed, and stop the stream as soon as you have verified the routing.
Removing an output does not delete the external platform account or its existing videos. It only stops StreamElements from sending new broadcasts to that destination.
Common problems and next steps
If the destination reappears, check whether the browser saved an old page state. Clear the cached copy with a page refresh first, then open the settings again to see whether the removal was actually saved.
When the option for removing a custom output is missing or disabled, confirm that you are using the account owner or an account role with permission to change destinations. A target linked during an active promotion or platform partnership may also need to be disconnected from the platform side before it can be removed.
If a removed destination is still visible in your broadcasting software, update the encoder settings there instead. Some external tools keep their own list of stream targets, so deleting the output in StreamElements does not automatically delete a separately saved destination in the encoder.
After you delete an output, reconnect it only if you can confirm the destination is still authorized for your account. Check StreamElements help or platform settings for any account-specific limits on the number of simultaneous destinations, because limits can change by subscription or region.
